I was given a prompt to create a 20 page magazine from scratch. I thought about this for a long time, trying to come up with something I was extremely passionate about. I decided I was going to create and write a magazine based on the local music talent in Lynchburg. 

With this I came up with the title, BLACKOUT, shortly after. The meaning of the word is a short period of time where something turns off, runs out, or stops. This made me think of how almost every artist whether you be a writer, musician or studio artist has a moment where you hit a wall. This feels like all of your creativity runs out, and you feel hopeless. So I interviewed three local artist and asked a little bit about them and what really inspires them when they feel this way. This magazine is to inspire people to do what they are passionate about, and keep going even when you feel as though you can’t.
